Prepaid Usage with Drawdown
Prepaid Usage with Drawdown is a service type for usage services to be billed in advance, with usage drawn from assigned service lines. Prepayment services can be added to both subscriptions and plans. Prepaid lines can only be linked to usage lines in the draft status. Prepaid lines can't be modified, activated, or suspended. Prepayments are activated when their associated usage services are activated.
Using the Prepay with Drawdown feature, customers can set up a prepay service on one subscription, then charge and burn down the prepayment with usage services on the same or another subscription.
Prepaid service lines have two frequency options:
-
One-Time – payments are estimated amounts paid in advance for expected usage. Usage is deducted from the balance. When the prepayment amount is gone, the service becomes a "pay as you go" service. When the prepayment balance is 0, you need to create a new subscription or subscription lines for prepayment and usage to add another prepayment.
-
Auto-Refill – requires a minimum balance of 0 or more. If the prepaid amount reaches the minimum balance, new prepayment charges are automatically created. For auto-refilled prepayments, the minimum balance is only validated after rating is completed for the submitted usage.
When the subscription term ends, the service provider can either refund the remaining prepay element amount or recognize it without a refund.
To enable Prepaid Usage with Drawdown:
-
