Resolving Duplicate Merge Time Out Errors

A Merge Time Out Error occurs when the system can't complete a merge due to the amount of information being merged or remapping required.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve merge time out errors when merging large numbers of records in NetSuite.

The troubleshooting steps below must be performed manually.

To resolve a merge time out error:

  1. Review the error log:

    Go to Lists > Mass Update > Duplicate Resolution Status to review details about the error.

  2. Restart the merge process:

    Go to Lists > Relationships > Customers, then from the customers list select one of the duplicate records you've identified and click the edit button.

  3. Next, click on the merge button to open the duplicate merge form.

  4. Choose the primary record:

    Under primary, select the entity record you want the duplicates to be merged into.

  5. Next, check the Prolong Timeout box to extend the time allowed for the merge operation.

  6. Click the merge button to re-run the merge.

    You should run merges during off-peak hours when system activity is low, as the merge process locks certain system resources.
