Visibility Dates for Categories
This information refers to SuiteCommerce or the 2018.2 release of SuiteCommerce Advanced or later.
You can decide exactly when a category and the items assigned to it show up on your site.
Example:
Say you’re running a spring sale in March. You want the “Spring Sale” category and its items to show up only for that month. Set the visibility to start March 1 at 12:00 am and end March 31 at 11:59 pm.
After creating the category, add your sale items. When you’re done, publish the category, and everything will show up only during the dates you set. For details, see Adding a Commerce Category and Create and Publish Content in Site Management Tools.
Other factors can impact how items display outside of this category:
-
If an item is in a category with a future start date, it won’t show up until that date
-
If an item is assigned to a category that has passed its end date, the item won't display.
-
If an item is in a category that has a future start date and a past end date, but is also assigned to a different category that is visible, the item is accessible through that category and also through search.
