Types of Search Synonyms

You can set up two types of search synonyms in NetSuite:

• Group Synonym — A group synonym is a set of terms that all return the same search results for any word in the group.

  For example, if you set sneakers, trainers, and shoes as group synonyms, searching for any of those terms will search for all of them.

• One-way Synonym — A one-way synonym works in one direction to produce search results.

  For example, if candy is a one-way synonym for sweets (sweets –> candy), searching for sweets will also search for candy, but searching for candy won’t search for sweets. If you want it to work both ways, set up sweets and candy as group synonyms.
